Walt: we are learning to use the making ten strategy
Tidy numbers strategy.
1. 8+7=15
7-2=5 take the 2 and add it to the 8.
I know that 8+2=10.
So I take the 5 and add it to the 10.
So I take the 5 and add it to the 10.
So 5+10=15
2. 9+6=15
6-1=5 take the 1 and add it to the 9.
I know that 9+1=10.
So I take the 5 and add it to the 10.
So 5+10=15
Use the strategy I showed you to work out this 27+15
My favourite part was adding the numbers to work the equals out
So I take the 5 and add it to the 10.
So 5+10=15
