Thunder

There was thunder & lightning last night. I saw the Light
blue lightning flickering on and off  like a light switch. Then the
deafening thunder struck. I was in bed fast asleep then all of a
sudden I heard a loud Bang. At first I thought it was a bad dream.
So I shut my eyes and Started drifting away into my dream.
Again Another loud Bang went. Then I said to myself “ok that
must be lightning”. Then the loudest bang went. I got so scared I
that I hid under my blankets so nothing could get to me.

Reflection: The thunder scared me

Halloween

Halloween

One Night Jeff, Thomas and George were watching a horror movie one night before christmas. George needed some water so he left. He got a glass of water and tried to drink but couldn’t swallow. He started to drown but then passed out falling head first into the sink full of water. George drowned. George woke up and turned into a monster that looked like Mike Wazowski. Jeff needed to go toilet. He walked to the toilet while hiding from the monster. He reached the toilet to open the lid and a monster jumped out and gave Jeff a fright and made Jeff scream like a Girl!

Reflection:It was hard writing without blood/Guts

Prototype Reflection

Walt: We are learning to design and create
Pallet garden prototype.

Prototype Reflection

On my prototype design I enjoyed using the boiling hot glue gun. But I disliked when I got burnt by the hot glue gun while I was trying to keep my prototype together. The burn felt like getting a sunburn. The most challenging  part was trying to not burn myself while organizing the popsicle sticks.

I chose this design because Animals and Birds can't get in and eat my veggies. Also there's lots of sun that can get into my garden.

On Wednesday Mr Masters chose to make some kuaka. So Mr Masters gave us some colouring feathers to colour in and write some good Value words. It was fun starting to write good value words because I could use bubble letter and block letter writing. Once I finished I didn't know about the colouring so when Mr Master told me I was annoyed but still happily did it. Once I finished colouring he gave me another lot of coloring feathers. Did the same thing and coloured in. Once I finished 22 feathers altogether I had to cut them out. In my head I was dead but inside I knew I needed to finish the kuaka. Because if i didn’t want to stay in at lunch and finish the work. I started to cut. I was cutting so slow. So I started begging Tianah to help me cut. ‘Fine’. Yes my begging worked. We cut for ages. Once we finished cutting I went to Mr Masters and said ‘ finished’ he told me to go to wheaea kelly so I did. We glued together a kuaka. But before I finished I had to do more colouring. I coloured the kuaka in and wheaea kelly cut it out. Finished Yay! I just had to put my kuaka on the wall. ‘Where should I put it?’. I put it on the wall and finished.

Question: Would you like this work? If so what part?

Reflection: I didn't like this work because I had to cut out so many feathers

WhiteBait Connection Part 2ooooooo

Walt: We are learning to be kaitiaki in our community.

Day 2 WhiteBait connection   

30th of July 2019 My class and I visited WhiteBait Connection again. Nina Was the one teaching us. We learnt how to identify fish pests and plant pests. Is a plant called the oxygen plant. It takes all the dissolved air away from the fish so then the fish can't eat and then they will die. We also found out what tools we can use to see how healthy the dune lake is. You can use a Thermometer, A fish trap, (if there are pests) and more. Before we go to have a look at them we got given groups. In my group was Me, (leader) Mia, Reo and Tristan.

Question: What do you think WhiteBait Connection is now?
Reflection: It was fun being a Leader because I like being bossy.

Day 1 WhiteBait Connection / Reflection

29th of July 2019 My class and I went to Whitebait Connection. A laddie named Nina talked to us about WhiteBait Connection. I found it interesting that when we had to learn about the water cycle. It evaporates into the clouds and when the clouds are too heavy they power down showering the hill’s, ocean’s, lakes and dirt. I really liked the part when we got given jars to put in a clean bowl of water. There are different types of water, Like roads, Rain water, Sewers, Toilet paper, Orange peels and more. After we dipped all of these items into the clean water it looked like dirty poo with dog vomit, with disgusting gone off pippies.

Question: What do you think WhiteBait Connection is?
Reflection: It was fun dirtying the clean bowl of water.

  

Under The Bed

Under The Bed

Bang!!! Bang!!! Fired a gun. I woke up. I rushed Down stairs hoping that my family was safe but My hopes were to low. “NOOOOOO!!!!!” I shouted. I'm starting to panic. “What do I do What do I do”. I said.  walking in circles. “No Mom no Dad”. I walk back to my bed wishing it was a dream. I get into my bed and close my eyes. All my thoughts fading away. I was just about to fall asleep but then i heard a noise coming from Under My Bed….. I jump of my bed to have a look. “Gotcha!!” I shouted. But nothing was there. What was that noise I said. I turn around to grab my phone to call my friend. I rang Jack. But then Something grabbed my leg and pulled and started to pull me Under The Bed. “Get Off Me Monster Thing!!!”. “Never!!” It said. Continuing to me Under The Bed. “Hello”. Said Jack. “Are you there Michael? I'm coming there to see if your alright”. He hung up had rushed to the hotel where Michael lived when we got to his house He was scared. He opened the door and saw jacks friends parents lying on the ground.”Oh No”. He powered through  the house trying to find Michael's room. “Help Me”. said Michael. “I'm coming” Jack said”. He found his room and dived on his arm starting to pull. “What's pulling you?”Said jack”. I don't know?”.Said. “Almost out”.Said Michael.

Matariki.

Walt: We are learning about Matariki.

When is Matariki? Matariki is a celebration on the 25th of June but In 2020, Matariki will begin on 13 July.988795

Where is Matariki? Matariki is in the North-East of New Zealand. 

What is Matariki? Matariki is a tradition that happens every  once a year 

5 Interesting facts.  

1. Different people celebrate Matariki at different times. 

2. All of the sisters names Waiti, Waita, Waipunarangi, Tupu a nuku, Tupu a rangi, Ururangi, Matariki.

3.  In late May or early June, signals the beginning of the Māori New Year.

4. Celebrations of Matariki can last for 3 days

5. Matariki is the oldest sister.

Reflection: It was hard hard keeping the stars on the paper  because the paint got the stars wet and slobbery.

My holidays

Walt: We are learning to write creative story's. 

During the holidays Me and my family drove to Auckland. We drove to Auckland to Danny's new school , called Auckland Grammar. After we got to Auckland we were driving around for about fifteen minutes. We were trying to find our cousins house. Eventually we found the house. We walked in said ‘hi’ and I went to Liam's room.  I played rocket league. After a couple of hours  I finally got off the PS4 , just to go to bed. The next morning me and my dad decided to go to jump. Around 3;00pm in the afternoon we finally arrived at our destination, Jump! We only got to go for one hour. When we got there we ordered jump socks, then started to jump. I acted dramatically walking on the first bounce pad. First I played basketball and I dunked on everyone including Danny. After 15 minutes I decided to line up for a game of dodgeball. I was eliminated in the first couple of minutes  go really annoyed , so I tried to do the Super hard Ninja course. A random employee came up to me and kicked me off , even though I paid for it. Then he showed me an easier skill course. It was still hard. My hour was all most up so I stopped and did the wall climb. You have to jump on a trampoline and climb the wall. I climbed it twice , then jumped down and hurt my back. Then my time was up. I hope I get to do that again sometime.

I though was hard was when writing it creatively. 

T Puawais Camp.

Te Puawais Camp.

On the 21st of 11th 2018 it was Te Puawais Camp. When we got to Whatuwhiwhi we unpacked our equipment. I was about to put my equipment away from the door by the last bed. But Damon wanted me to sleep by him by the door in a gap. We all unpacked and played like at school. We had morning tea, Lunch and Dinner. In the morning we had breakfast and in the afternoon we went on a tramp. We went to the hole in the rock and jumped off. First I did a dive, then a Shotgun, and last a pin. After dinner we watched a movie. It was called a Wrinkle in Time. Then we fell a sleep. On the last day we packed up,had breakfast and brushed our teeth then played for until 9am. Then we had a speech and left.

Ninja Challenge

I liked how to use the paint brush and learn how to hyperlink.

Rudolph the red nose rabbit

Walt: we are learning to write creative writing .

Rudolph the rabbit and his elves were working none stop for Eastmas eve. Rudolph told his elves to build a rocket tree to hide kids presents. “The  tree rocket is ready and so is Eastmas! “But there is not enough presents to hide”, Shouted Rudolph! Ohh wait the rocket tree! Quick make more presents”. 1 Hour later: It’s almost morning we have to deliver the presents. They delivered before morning , but at the last stop it was… Evil Jimmy's House. So they didn’t deliver presents to him! And then left to go back to the North Pole.

Today Captain Undead was looking for dirty gold as usual.  Then Captain Undead's mate Billy shouted “Look over there ,it's a beautiful island” Said Billy.”Spooky” Said Captain Undead ‘ Maybe we should explore!’ Said Billy ‘Yeah” Said Captain Undead. They walked into the island and got so scared that Captain Undead punched Billy and knocked him right out.Then ran into a branch and knocked himself out. But then the tree Said ‘Ha Ha Ha Ha’.

How could I make this a better piece of writing??

Hydroponic Art

Walt: We are learning to create Hydroponic Pallet gardens.

What was my favourite  part?

My favorite part was when I had to make a hydroponic pallet. This was my favourite part because I like doing the subject Arts and Crafts

What I could have done differently?

What I could have done differently was use a more stable pallet, because I  could make more room for plants.

What I found difficult?

What I found difficult was making my hydroponic art because I could not find any green.

What I could have done better?

What I could have done better is put longer pipes in because all of my pipes are really short and might miss the next layer.

Seven stars of Matariki

WALT:We Are Learning To retell maori legends.

The Seven Sisters of Matariki

Once there lived a boy named Tony. Tony was raised by his grandfather, Tom. Tony learned to transform into an Albatross and could eavesdrop on his brothers. One day Tony and his brothers went hunting and heard beautiful voices on the top of Mt Camel. Once the brothers and Tony reached the top of Mt Camel they saw seven beautiful Tui. The beautiful Tui transformed into seven charming wahine. The brothers looked into the wahines eyes and they were spellbound. Tony took no notice of the beautiful wahine. The brothers took the wahine back to the village to make them their wives. Tony did not like their wives. One day the brothers went hunting to gather kai for their wives. They did not like seafood. Tony knew that they were up to something. So Tony quickly transformed into an Albatross and while holding a magic net, Tony hid behind a tree. Minutes later all the wives came out of the house as Tui. All the Tui discussed their plan to starve the brothers! Tony quickly wrapped all the Tui in the magic net and took the Tui to the God of the stars Te Urunganana. The brothers went back to the village with lots of kai for their wives. They were looking for their wives, but they were nowhere to be found. The brothers were hungrier than ever because they had not eaten for weeks! Tony said “Look at yourselves! You are skin and bone! You were big strong, handsome men! Your wives were Patupaiarehe!” The brothers looked at one another and agreed that the spell their wives had put on them was now broken , thanks to Tony. Now up in the sky you can see the wives glowing like stars.

Hydroponic

WALT: We Are Learning To make a hydroponic system Without using soil.

How to make a simple hydroponic system:

These are the materials you need:

Bottle, Bottle cap, Hole saw, Net cup, light source, plant.

1. Get a net cup and put it in the center of the bottle cap. Then trace around it with a pen. Put the bottle cap back on the bottle.

2. Get a hole saw and a drill a hole the same size as the net cup.

3. Get out the same net cup and put it in the drilled hole.

4. Put a plant into the net cup.

5. Water the plant until the water is just below the net cup.

6. Put the bottle next to a sunny window.

7. Refill the bottle when there is no water left.

The hardest part was looking online for videos that show the easiest hydroponic system and putting it into my own words.
